The Trumbull High girls and boys cross country teams fared well at the FCIAC Championships held on Oct. 20, at Waveny Park in New Canaan.

Kate Romanchick was 13th overall to earn a spot on the All-FCIAC squad with a time of 15:22 on the 4K course for the Eagles, who finished in sixth place.

Julia Provenzano finished 16th overall in a time of 15:39, which was good for second-team All-FACIAC honors.

Other top finishers included Emma Soltis 44th 16:41, Natalie Faivre 46th 16:50, Carrie Foito 53rd 16:59, Erin Gillespie 64th 17:25 and Jillian Ryan 65th 17:33.

Coach Jim McCaffrey’s Eagles received the trophy for placing first in the West Division.

The boys had a strong performance, also finishing sixth overall.

Nick Grew led the Eagles, placing 20th overall to garner second-team All-FCIAC honors.

Shane Romanchick finished 34th overall in a time of 17:17, followed by Taylor Auten 45th 17:45, Jake Cappello 47th 17:47, Joseph Vecchione 48th 17:57 and Matthew Prior 56th 18:28.
