Julie Kecker has been named Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie-of-the-Week.

A freshman guard for Eastern Connecticut State University, the Trumbull High standout has started all eight games this year for head coach Denise Bierly.

Keckler repeats the ROW honor after averaging 10.5 points, 6.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds in two Little East Conference road wins that kept the Warriors unbeaten (4-0) in the conference. Keckler shot 55.6 percent from the floor and was 9-of-10 from the stripe for the week.

In a 69-57 win Saturday at Plymouth State University, Keckler had 17 points, four rebounds and two assists. She was 5-of-7 from the floor (2-of-3 from distance) and 5-of-6 from the stripe.

Keckler, who had 10 assists in a win over Western Connecticut, is ranked fourth in the LEC — first among freshmen —  in free-throw percentage (81.8).
