Joey Ryan's pin lifts Eagles

Joey Ryan had a 36-second pin in the 170-pound weight class to bring Trumbull High all the way back from a 21-6 deficit on Wednesday, when the Eagles defeated host Ridgefield High, 39-33, in an FCIAC match.

Also posting wins on the mat for Trumbull were Tristan Haviland, Cross Cannone, Adam Angelucci and Mike Maresca.

Leading the way with victories for Ridgefield were Byron Sleight, Peter Murray, Jared Donnelly, Dylan Chelednik and Kyle McCormick.

Both teams will compete in the FCIAC Championships being held at New Canaan High on Friday and Saturday.
