Indoor track: Trumbull relay sets State Open record

Trumbull High’s Tyler Gleen and the Eagles’ 4x800 record-breaking relay team of Dylan McEniry, Tyler Rubush, Taylor Auten and Gleen captured titles at the State Open Indoor Track and Field Championships in New Haven on Saturday.

The Trumbull’s boys team placed fifth. Danbury won the title, followed by Brien McMahon, Wethersfield and Bloomfield.

Gleen ran a 1:20.76 to take the 600-meter title. Dan Linehan of McMahon was second at 1:22.42.

Trumbull’s 4x8 time of 8:03.89 was a State Open record and bested Danbury’s 8:05.92.

Kate Romanchick placed fifth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:10.91.

St. Joseph’s Jada Harris was second in the 55 hurdles at 8.48, behind Vickie Milledge of Simsbury’s 8.30. Harris was third in the high jump at 5-6.
