
Julia DiCesare and Maia Moscova scored goals in the second half to lift the St. Joseph girls soccer team to a 2-1 Class L second-round win over Mercy High from Middletown in Trumbull on Friday.
Moscova's difference maker came on a direct kick in the final minute of regulation.
DiCesare's goal came with 10 minutes remaining, off an assist from Jessica Mazo.
Camille Gilarde gave the Tigers the lead in the 30th minute.
Coach Jack Nogueria’s third-seeded Cadets are now 18-1-1.
They will play host to No. 6 Pomperaug of Southbury (14-2-1) in the quarterfinals on Monday at 2 p.m.
No. 14 Mercy is 10-8-1.
Veronica O’Rourke made four saves.
Mercy’s Samara Streater had 13 stops.
