Girls soccer: St. Joseph earns rematch with Ridgefield High
The St. Joseph girls soccer team earned a return trip to the FCIAC finals when coach Jack Nogueria’s Cadets shutout Wilton High, 3-0, in their semifinal match at Kristine Lilly Field on Tuesday night.
Top-seeded St. Joseph (16-1-1) will play Ridgefield High (16-2-0) for the title on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Norwalk High. The second-seeded Tigers defeated the Cadets in last year’s final.
Jessica Mazo and Alexis Mason scored goals to give St. Joseph a 2-0 lead at the half.
Lindsey Savko made it 3-0 in the second session and keeper Veronica O’Rourke made three saves to preserve the clean sheet against the fifth-seeded Warriors (12-5-1).
Wilton’s Covadonga Perez Pelaez had six saves.
