Jessica Mazo scored two goals and had an assist when the St. Joseph girls soccer team defeated Fairfield Warde, 5-1, in the FCIAC semifinals at Kristine Lilly Field in Wilton on Wednesday night.

The second-seeded Cadets (13-1-4) will play top-seeded Staples High (13-3-1) for the title on Friday at 7 p.m. at Fairfield Ludlowe.

The Wreckers posted their 11th shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory over No. 4 Ridgefield in their semifinal.

Warde is 13-4-1.

For coach Jack Nogueria’s team it will be its fourth trip to the finals in the last five seasons.

Tory Bike, Maddie Fried and Nina Pizzicarola had goals for the Cadets.
