WOODSTOCK — St. Joseph’s Lilia Ivanovich scored six goals and had two assists to lead coach Leeland Gray’s 13th-seeded Cadets to a 17-11 victory over No. 4 seeded Woodstock Academy in the first round of the Class M state tournament on Wednesday.
St. Joseph (10-7) will visit No. 5 Pomperaug of Southbury (13-3-1) in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Jettke Gray had four goals, Kylie Lucifora three goals and two assists, Isabelle Casucci two goals, Annie McNeil a goal with three assists, Ryan Camiglio a goal and assist, and Bela Yoguez and Ivanovich had two assists.
Erin Owens made six saves.
For Woodstock Academy (13-4), Emma Clavera scored six goals, Arielle Johnson four goals and Emma Redfield one goal.
