Despite netting nine goals, the Trumbull-St Joseph girls hockey team fell 12-9 to the Masuk co-op squad at The Rinks as Shelton on Friday.

Masuk built a 4-0 lead, and the Eagles closed to within a goal four times in the final period to make things interesting.

Erin Owens had four goals and two assists.

Alexa Brown had three goals and three assists.

Amelia Walker scored twice and had an assist.

Lydia Prezioso added an assist for the Eagles.

Walker scored only 33 seconds into the third period to make it a 7-6 game, but the Panthers struck just 2:02 into the stanza to reclaim a two-goal edge.

The teams traded the next several goals, and the Eagles hung close until a late Panther flurry put the game out of reach.
