Girls hockey: FCIAC well represented in All-State game

Team Columbia Blue defeated Team Red, 4-1, in the Connecticut Girls All-State Hockey Game at the Rinks at Shelton on June 19.

New Canaan’s Catherine Granito scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period.

Goaltenders for Team Columbia Blue were Trumbull’s Gina Moriello, Amanda Hill from New Canaan and Shannon Racz from Hall-Conard.

Skaters were Granito, Mia Carroll and Jessie Eccleston from New Canaan, Darien’s Katie Zaro, Olivia Santini and Megan McKiernan from Hamden, East Haven’s Julia Schatz, Catherine Lawrence from Guilford, Amity’s Gina Driscoll and EGS’s (East Catholic-Glastonbury-South Windsor) Maddie Gervais.

Team Red goaltenders were Wilton’s Brooke Jonsson, Claire Perry from Stamford-Staples-Westhill and East Haven’s Julia SanGiovanni.

Skaters were Trumbull’s Caroline Prezioso, Greenwich’s Jennie Piotrzkowski, Stephanie Walsh from Stamford-Staples-Westhill, EGS’s Maggie Hallissey, Maddie Bishop, Eliza Baker and Sarah Manner, Notre Dame of Fairfield’s Alexandra D’Aurio, Mercy High’s Abby Lally, Hamden’s Samantha Talmadge, and Hall-Conard’s Carly Gorman and Emma Gotthelf.
