St. Joseph lost a 57-51 decision to Greenwich High in FCIAC girls basketball action in Trumbull on Tuesday.

Coach Chris Lindwall’s Cadets are now 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the FCIAC. Greenwich is 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the league

The Cardinals took a 14-9 lead after one quarter.

The Cadets played them even at 15 points apiece in the second stanza.

St. Joseph’s 17-6 run in the third quarter gave it a 41-35 advantage with one period to be played.

GHS, led by Abbie Wolf, who had 30 points, won the final canto, 22-10. Wolf had 16 rebounds and blocked four shots.

St. Joseph’s Jackie Jozefick scored 15 points with 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Megan Robertson had 11 points and Chelsea Dos Santos eight.

Shannon Healey had eight rebounds. Ashley Lynch had six assists and four steals.

Greenwich’s Emily Anderson scored 12 points and Caroline Beneville seven

The Cards were 10-of-14 from the foul line; St. Joseph 12-for 17. Healey was 6-for-8 for the Cadets.

St. Joseph will play Trumbull High in the first game of the 9th annual Officials vs Cancer fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society at Fairfield University beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9.

One dollar from every $6 ticket sold will be donated to the cause.
