The St. Joseph High girls basketball team qualified for the state tournament on Monday with a 56-36 victory over Brien McMahon in Norwalk.

The Cadets improved to 8-6 overall and 6-4 in the FCIAC. McMahon is 3-11, 3-9.

Coach Chris Lindwall’s team dominated the middle two periods by a count of 34-16 to take a 43-27 lead into the final frame.

Jackie Jozefick scored 16 points, Chelsea Dos Santos 13 and the Cadets were 11-for-13 from the foul line.

Jozefick had 10 rebounds, five blocks and three steals.

Alyssa Zito had five assists and three steals.

Aija Andrews scored seven points and Tiffany Scott six for McMahon.
