The St. Joseph Lady Cadets hung tough, but dropped a close 48-44 FCIAC girls basketball decision to the Norwalk Bears. The night began by honoring the two senior co-captains Shannon Healey and Jackie Jozefick.

St. Joseph finished with 17 fouls while Norwalk had 19. However the Cadets could not capitalize shooting only 12-for-21 from the free throw line.

The game was close throughout, as Norwalk led 19-15 at halftime and 31-26 after three and started the fourth on a 10-0 to take a 41-26 lead.

St. Joseph responded with an 18-2 run to take a 44-43 lead before Norwalk scored the final five points to finish the victory.

Jozefick scored 17 points and Megan Robertson finished with 13.

Junior Asiah Knight led Norwalk with 17 points and Chelsey Cerrato finished with 14.

With the win, Norwalk claims the eighth and final seed in the FCIAC Tournament, which will open on Saturday.

For the Cadets, they will wait to see who they will face in the state tournament.
