The St. Joseph High girls indoor track team fared well at the Class M meet in New Haven on Saturday.
Andrea Galeano medaled in the shot put, finishing fifth with a throw of 34-04.25.
Julia Spinelli added one foot, seven inches to her best throw of the season.
Maddie Daly finished eighth and ran the best time of her career in the 55 hurdles.
Emily Recupero and Lydia Seyer ran the best time of their career in the 55 hurdles.
Coach Gary Schmidlin said, “Jada Harris was in first place going into the last hurdle with an excellent time before experiencing one of the problems that only hurdlers would understand.”
“The 4/400 relay team knocked 10.31 seconds off their best time, finishing 4th and winning medals with a time of 4:17 31.
“They are in line to participate in the State Open next Saturday. Every girl ran her best times of the season in this event.
“Jada Harris bounced back from the hurdles and ran a great first leg in 63.42 seconds.
“Christina Sylvester and Allie Quatrella ran strong legs at 65-plus seconds and Maria Provenzano ran a 63.1 passing a number of teams in an exciting finish.”
