Johnny McElroy threw for four touchdown passes to lead the Trumbull High football team to a 48-19 victory over Westhill High in Stamford on Saturday.
Coach Bob Maffei’s Eagles are now 2-1 on the season. Westhill dropped to 1-2.
Trumbull responded to a Westhill score on its first possession by scoring the next 41 points.
Markeese Woods caught a pair of scoring passes for the Eagles.
Peter Raverta and Danny Hoffman had receiving touchdowns.
Trevor Arganese returned one of four Trumbull interceptions 20 yards for a score.
