Trumbull High took control in the second half of its game at Norwalk High to emerge with a 48-16 decision in FCIAC football action on Friday night.

Coach Bob Maffei’s Eagles, now 6-3, trailed the Bears 16-13 at the half.

Norwalk, now 3-6, was led by Krishtjan Frrokaj, who ran for a 1-yard score, threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Alton Hall, and kicked a 37-yard field goal.

Johnny McElroy led the Trumbull rally with a pair of third-quarter touchdown passes to Peter Raverta (20 and 46 yards).

Ryan Kelly returned an interception for a score to open the final period and take the score to 34-16.

Markesse Woods, who had scored on a 57-yard pass from McElroy in the opening quarter, and ran one in from 35 yards out in the second, tacked on a 60-yard touchdown run.

Isaiah Johnson scored on a 29-yard run and Ryan Ruff booted his sixth extra point to complete the scoring.
