New Canaan High’s Michael Collins threw for nine touchdowns to lead the unbeaten Rams to a 69-26 victory over the Trumbull Eagles on Friday night at Dunning Field.

Collins’ total tied Bloomfield High’s Jason Manson (2000) for best ever.

New Canaan is 7-0. Trumbull fell to 5-2.

The Eagles took the lead on Markeese Woods’ 11-yard touchdown run and Ryan Cranston’s conversion kick.

New Canaan scored the next six touchdowns, five on Collins’ passes.

Johnny McElroy found Woods for a 38-yard touchdown pass, but the Rams took a 48-14 lead into the half.

McElroy would throw scoring passes to Dustin Siqueria (26 yards) and Danny Hoffmann (23 yards) in the third quarter.

There was no scoring in the final period.
