Floor hockey: Trumbull Tigers third at Winter Games

The Trumbull Special Olympics floor hockey Trumbull Tigers recently competed in the Winter Games held at Pratt and Whitney Hanger in East Hartford.

The Unified team, comprised of both special athletes and partners, played eight games over three days and earned a bronze medal competing against 17 teams from the state.

Helping the team defensively and tied for the team lead in assists were David Dennin and Ben Fortuna.

The goal scorers were Mike Hedrick, Dom Murolo, John Turbeville, Danny Kenny and Brain Kopsco.

Playing well in goal were Carlo Tomasio and Tommy Zmijewski.

In the skills competitions, all four players earned a medal in their divisions: Tracy LaReau gold, George Manesiotis silver, and Pat Loh and Andrew McMillan bronze.

The Trumbull Tigers would like to thank the local Special Olympics Trumbull chapter for all of their help and to all of the fans who came out to cheer them on.
