Eagles make states

Trumbull High broke on top 18-4 after one quarter and coach Steve Tobitsch’s Eagles won a 63-34 decision from FCIAC girls basketball rival Brien McMahon in Norwalk on Tuesday.

Trumbull qualified for the state tournament, as it improved to 8-3 overall and 7-2 in the FCIAC.

Amanda Pfohl scored 14 points, Nina Vetter 12, Kalisse Eldridge 12 and Claudia Tucci seven. Kate O’Leary and Dani McGillicuddy had five assists each.

McMahon was led by Kassandra Scott with 12 points.
