Danbury comes back to defeat Trumbull, 28-14
The Trumbull High football team jumped in front of host Danbury High by a 14-0 score after one period on Friday night, but the Hatters scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to emerge with a 28-14 victory in this match up of FCIAC rivals.
Coach Bob Maffei’s Eagles are 3-6 overall and 3-5 in the FCIAC. Danbury is 7-2 overall and 6-2 in the FCIAC.
Dan Hoffman scored on a 2-yard run and Adam Angelucci found the end zone on another 2-yard plunge, with Hoffman adding both conversion kicks for the Eagles.
Danbury scored on an 85-yard pass play to bring the score to 14-7 at the half and the Hatters’ Eric Henry scored three touchdowns on runs of 17, 7 and 5 yards after intermission.
