The Trumbull High girls cross country team swept Stamford High and Brien McMahon from Norwalk in a quad meet at New Canaan’s Waverny Park on Wednesday.

The Eagles’ Kate Romanchick out ran the competition, winning her first meet of the season in a time of 16:14 with a one-minute plus lead over New Canaan's top runner Drew Davis, who finished third with a time of 17:21 on the 4000-meter course.

Trumbull’s Kaley Fasoli had a solid run, finishing in a time of 17:14, good enough for second overall.

Trumbull held the top two spots, but New Canaan had a strong pack of runners placing 7-of-10 giving them an edge over Trumbull and Stamford.

The top six runners for THS were Romanchick 16:14, Fasoli 17:14, 11th Valerie Mingrone 18:12, 13th Victoria Estacio 18:19, 18th Margaret Laschiavo 19:15 and 26th Jennifer Vojt 19:57.
