The St. Joseph boys cross country team placed 14th at Wednesday's FCIAC championships at Waveny Park in New Canaan.

The Cadets scored 402 points.

Senior Jack Moulder placed 54th overall in 18 minutes, 33 seconds.

Junior Anthony Crocco placed 78th in 20:09 and sophomore Garrett Kalker placed 88th in 21:14.

Also competing in the varsity race were sophomore Michael Zannis (90th, 21:21), senior Michael DeVore (92nd, 21:47), sophomore Sean Yankocy (94th, 22:11) and senior Nicholas Russo (98th, 23:54).

"The guys that raced performed right around where I thought they would perform, for the most part," said St. Joseph coach David Scrivines. "It was good to get some varsity race experience for some of the younger guys as well."

In the junior varsity race, sophomore Dante Criscio placed 125th in 21:29 and sophomore Manuel Garzon placed 151st in 21:59.

Senior Jon Wypychoski placed 194th in 23:47 and junior Ryan Haack placed 201st in 24:01.

Sophomore Luke Healy placed 214th (24:33) and sophomore Igor Poliwoda placed placed 259th (30:11).

In the freshman race (1.5 miles), Paul Fabbri placed 57th (9:53) and Shane Fitzgerald placed 94th (10:23).

Jason Paul placed 98th in 10:29, while Ethan Novicio placed 123rd (11:03).

Tim Gavrish (143rd, 11:54) and Jarell Estemil (171st, 16:31) also competed.

St. Joseph will compete in the Class M state championship race at Wickham Park in East Hartford on Oct. 29 at 11:25 a.m.
