Christie Costello, a recent graduate of Trumbull High School, was recognized as FCIAC Scholar Athlete for the month of April as well as Scholar Softball Athlete 2014.

Costello, named first-team All-FCIAC, was a starting varsity softball player for the Trumbull Eagles all four years.

At the school banquet, she received the following awards:  highest batting average .551; highest on base percentage .633;  nine base on ball; most hits at 38; most doubles at 10; most run scored at 27, and the team’s MVP (Most Valuable Player).

She has been accepted at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, where the daughter of William and Lynn Costello plans to study pharmacy in the fall.
