Cannone heads to FCIAC wrestling finals

Cross Cannone, ranked No. 1, in the 132-pound class of the FCIAC wrestling championships, beat Fairfield Warde's Aaron Beinstein, No. 4, in a technical fall, 17-2, in Saturday's semifinals in New Canaan.

In the other semifinal match, Danbury's Justin Peterson, No. 3, beat No. 2 Colin Storm of Ridgefield in a 4-0 decision.

The FCIAC championships, in all weight classes, is going on all day at New Canaan High School. Earlier on Saturday, Tristan Haviland of Trumbull won his semifinal match in the 106-pound class.

Seven other Trumbull wrestlers are in semifinal matches today. Updates will be posted on throughout the day.
