The St. Joseph High girls soccer team will play Fairfield Warde in the Class LL quarterfinal round on Sunday at at 1:30 p.m. at the Dalling Sports Complex in Trumbull. Warde defeated St. Joseph, 1-0, in the regular season.

The third-seeded Cadets (13-2-3) scored four goals in the second half to turn back 14 seed Cheshire High, 5-1, on Thursday.

Warde (15-3-3), the sixth seed, defeated No. 11 New Milford, 1-0, in its second-round match.

Jenna Bike scored two goals for the Cadets. Lindsey Savko, Marissa Grasso and Miranda Quint had one goal each.

Savko and Quint had two assists each; Bike and Grasso one apiece.

Veronica O’Rourke had two saves, as Cheshire finished 12-6-3.

Warde’s Lauren Tagney scored her goal in the second half to defeat South-West Conference champion New Milford (14-4-3).

Meredith Nerreau had the assist and Mollie Kerrigan had five saves.
