St. Joseph came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Trumbull High in an FCIAC baseball game on Monday.

Trumbull (8-4) put two runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning, with Colin Keyes knocking in Liam Moore, who had reached on an infield single, on a ground out. Jake Levison singled and scored on a wild pitch.

Cadet right-hander Jake Amoroso (3-1) shut down the Eagles the final six frames, stranding four base runners and striking out five.

Keyes took the loss after St. Joseph (7-4) tied the game in the top of the second and added runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Dave Capela had a key two-out RBI single in the second. Mark Hirschbeck singled and later scored on a wild pitch in the fourth. Mike Rotondo reached on a fielder’s choice and came home on Hirschbeck’s force out grounder with the bases loaded in the fifth.
