Cadets lose 7-2 to Notre Dame in states

The St. Joseph boys team lost a 7-2 decision to Notre Dame-Fairfield in the Division I state tournament on March 12.

The Cadets finished 7-13-1. Notre Dame is 16-4-1.

The Lancers took a 3-0 lead after one period, before Andy Van Etten scored an unassisted goal at 7:43 of the third.

Notre Dame took a 5-1 lead into the final period.

It was 6-1, when St. Joseph’s Justic Cook, on an assist from Ryan Corcoran, got on the board.

Christian Furce had 18 saves and Dylan Batterson 12.

Zak Bouve had 26 saves for the Lancers.
