Cadets drop decision to GHS in girls hoop

St. Joseph lost to host Greenwich High, 56-42, in an FCIAC girls basketball game on Wednesday.

Coach Chris Lindwall’s Cadets are now 10-3 overall and 8-3 in the FCIAC. Greenwich is 11-2, 9-2 FCIAC.

St. Joseph took a 15-8 lead after one quarter before Greenwich closed to within 23-22 at the half. GHS won the third quarter 14-6 and extended its 36-29 lead by seven points in the final period.

Bridget Sharnick scored 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals for St. Joseph.

Caitlin Sharnick had 10 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.

Ana DoCarmo had five assoists and three steals.

GHS was led by Jaime Kochenmeister, who had 21 points and 10 rebounds. Abbie Wolfe had 18 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks.
