Boys soccer: Trumbull defeats Danbury, 4-2

The Trumbull High boys soccer team handed visiting Danbury High its first loss of the season when coach Sebastian Gangemi’s Eagles defeated the visiting Hatters, 4-2, on Thursday.

Arin Lara scored in the 13th minute, on an assist from Thang Dao, to give the 3-2-1 Eagles’ the lead.

Warren scored in the 30th minutes, with Dao assisting, before Daniel Russo pushed the score to 3-0 four minutes later. Elvis Rodriguez had the assist.

Rodriguez found the back of the net in the 40th minute, off a Chris Lancia helper, to make it 4-0.

Chris Sari broke the shutout in the 55th minute for Danbury, now 4-1-1.

Kevin Spennato had the final goal with five minutes remaining. Justin Warren had both assists.

Trumbull’s Jonathan Campbell made seven saves and Andrew Menjivar three. Felix Escobar had three stops for the Hatters.
