Greenwich High defeated St. Joseph, 7-2, in an FCIAC boys soccer match on Wednesday.

The Cardinals went on top 4-1 in the first half.

James Huber scored in the 5th minute before St. Joseph’s Sawyer Meehan tied it seven minutes later.

GHS took the lead for good on goals from Fermine Mendive (29th minute) and Alejandro MacLean (33rd and 38th minute).

Rei Nakayama opened the second half scoring with a tally at the midway point.

Sebastian Hernandez scored in the 70th minute and Martin Garcia in in the 70th.

Meehan scored his second goal with seven minutes remaining.

Christopher MacKay had two saves for the Cardinals, who won the shots on goal battle 19-6.

St. Joseph’s Tyler Higgins made five saves.
