St. Joseph High School has named Eddy LeMaire as head varsity boys ice hockey.

LeMaire was the Cadets’ assistant hockey coach from 2009-13. He has been actively involved with Yale Youth Hockey, The Wonderland Wizards and The River Hawks youth hockey organizations over the past few years.

LeMaire played professional hockey in France, as well as Junior A and Junior B hockey in Canada. He resides in Ansonia.

“I am elated to be back home with St. Joe’s,” LeMaire said. “My goal is to build and develop this team to contend for the division one title every season."

St. Joseph High School Vice Principal for Athletics, Kevin Butler, said, “We are very excited to have Eddy return to our SJ family. He brings a wealth of knowledge in ice hockey and he is a true youth developer of hockey players. Eddy’s passion and enthusiasm for St. Joe’s hockey is evident, and we could not be more pleased with his return.”
