Boys hockey: St. Joseph defeats Fairfield in playoffs

The St. Joseph boys hockey defeated Fairfield Warde-Ludlowe, 2-0, in the FCIAC tournament quarterfinals at Terry Conners Rink in Stamford on Saturday.

Adam Usinger scored 22 seconds into the second period to give St. Joseph the lead.

Nick DiSabella and Will Foldesi had the assists.

Foldesi took the score to 2-0 at 11:15 of the third period. Usinger had the assist.

Ryan Wilson had 25 saves in posting the shut out.

Mike Grace made 32 stops for Fairfield.

The Cadets are now 11-9-1 and will play in the FCIAC semifinals on Wednesday.

Fairfield dropped to 14-5-1.
