St. Joseph knocked off top-ranked Notre Dame of West Haven, 4-0, at Bennett Rink in West Haven on Wednesday, as coach J. R. Bria’s eight-ranked Cadets improved to 3-1 on the season.

Notre Dame, coming off a 3-1 victory over then No. 1 Darien, is 5-2.

Tom Flynn’s goal in the first period put St. Joseph on top, and after a scoreless second stanza, the Cadets tallied three goals in the final frame.

Ryan Wilson made 40 saves to record the shutout.

St. Joseph made the most of its 20 shots on net, with the Green Knights’ Conor Hylton making 16 stops.

Nick DiSabella’s unassisted goal 37 seconds into the third period made it 2-0.

Andrew Van Etten scored at 5:52 and Will Foldesi at 13:30.

Connor Hurley, Kevin Faustich, Will Gilbert, DiSabella and Andrew Gilbert had the assists.
