Trumbull High lost its first game of the season when Waterford won a 66-65 home decision in a battle of non-conference unbeatens on Saturday.

Coach Buddy Bray’s Eagles are now 6-1. Waterford is 8-0.

Timmond Williams scored 28 points and had 10 rebounds for Trumbull, which rallied from a 21-12 deficit after one quarter to make it 35-29 at the half.

The Lancers held a one-point advantage after three periods.

Chris Brown scored 14 points with eight rebounds.

Mileeq Green had nine points and eight rebounds.

Quentar Taylor had eight points, four rebounds and four assists.

Evan Gutowski had six rebounds.

Leading Waterford were Kenny Hill (20 points) and J.J. Brennan (18 points).
