The Kingsmen boys basketball team got their first HVAL win of the season (1-1, 3-3 overall) in the opening round of the Christian Heritage Christmas Classic on Friday.

Hosting long time rival Masters, CHS jumped out to an early 10-0 lead. Masters fought back and played the remainder of the game almost even, with the Kingsmen topping the Lions 77-66.

For Christian Heritage, Queshon Webley had 22 points and 12 rebounds. Clay Westermann led all scorers with 36 points. Three Masters players scored 13 points or more.

The Kingsmen will face Emmanuel Christian in the championship game today at 6 p.m., making it a rematch of last year’s game. Masters will play Cornerstone at 2 p.m.

The CHS girls team will play Cornerstone for the title at 4 p.m.
