The Trumbull High football team went on the road and lost to FCIAC rival Stamford High, 42-30, on Saturday.

Adam Angelucci ran for a pair of scores for coach Bob Maffei’s Eagles, who trailed the Black Knights 21-14 at the half.

Trumbull (0-3) took a 9-7 lead after one period on a two-point safety and John McElroy’s 50-yard touchdown pass to Lance Bragg.

Stamford (2-1) had two second-quarter touchdowns to offset Angelucci’s 1-yard run.

It was 28-14 when Markeese Woods returned a kick 75 yards for a score and Bragg made the conversion kick in the third period.

The Knights went in front 42-22 with two fourth-quarter touchdowns, before Angelucci found the end zone on a 13-yard run and McElroy passed to Jonathan De Rosa for the two-point conversion.
