Trumbull Post 141 fell victim to a seven-run sixth-inning uprising by Bishop Hendricken (R.I.) and lost a 10-6 decision in the Firecracker Invitational Tournament semifinals on Sunday in Attleboro (Mass.).

Trailing 3-0 in the home third after a two-run home run by Rob Henry in the top of the inning, Trumbull drew a run back on Luke Waldek’s RBI single, which scored Tim Keckler who had singled.

Carl Johnson hit a grand slam home run in the fourth to lift Post 141 into a 5-3 lead.

With one out, Zach Sagar reached on an error, Matt Fasoli walked and Wolpiuk singled to load the bases. Johnson his the first pitch of his at bat for a home run over the left field wall.

Trumbull added its final run in the sixth on Wolpiuk’s one-out homer to center field.

Mark Hirschbeck had three of Post 141’s nine hits and Johnson added a double.

Bishop Hendricken’s decisive sixth featured seven hits, the big blow a three-run double by Henry.

Trumbull returns home to play a makeup game at Darien on Monday at 5:30.
