Ryan Gomes out of Trumbull High has signed a Letter of Intent to play baseball at Roger Williams University.

“Ryan emerged as a quality starting pitcher for us last season,” Pacelli said.

“He handed top ranked Fairfield Prep its lone loss of the regular season with a tremendous outing. Ryan delivered quality start after quality start, which helped the team to a strong finish in the FCIAC standings.

“Our coaching staff and I will be relying heavily on Ryan to lead the pitching staff this coming spring. Ryan’s deceptive delivery and his ability to locate multiple pitches are what make him an effective pitcher.

“He also takes the mound with the confidence and mindset that he can beat any team on any given day.

"Coach [Jason] Tower at Roger Williams will really enjoy having Ryan as part of his program. Ryan is a hard worker and his positive personality and sense of humor make him a great teammate.”

The Hawks finished 11-5 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference in 2018.
