Baseball: Trumbull's Keckler shuts down Westport

Danny Keckler retired all 11 batters he faced and Trumbull defeated Westport by a score of 15-5 in American Legion Zone IV action on Tuesday.

Westport scored five runs in the top of the first inning.

Trumbull put up four runs in the third inning, sixth in the fourth, four in the fifth and a run in the sixth.

Dustin Sequeira had two doubles and three RBIs.

Jack Lynch had two hits, including an RBI double.

Simon Whiteman had two hits, including the walk-off double in sixth with two-outs which triggered the mercy win. Vin DeRubeis had led off sixth with a walk.

Kris DiCocco had a two-run single in the fifth.

DeRubeis reached base all four of his plate appearances.

Trumbull will visit Westport tonight and complete the three-games series at home Thursday at 5:30.
