Baseball: Trumbull's Andrew Lojko four hits Norwalk

Trumbull Legion’s Andrew Lojko tossed a four-hitter in Post 141’s 9-1 victory over Norwalk on Friday.

Trumbull (14-2) will play Stamford (13-1) for the Zone IV lead this weekend, with a doubleheader at Stamford on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. and a single game Sunday at Trumbull High at 10 a.m.

Andrew Lojko (2-1) allowed one run, walked two and struck out one in the win over Norwalk (6-6).

Alex Rauso had a double, a single and scored three runs.

Matt Fasoli, Jack Lynch (RBI) and Chris O'Brien each had two hits.

Simon Whiteman had a two-run triple.

Trumbull took a 2-0 lead in the second inning.

Rauso led off with a hard single off the pitcher and went to second on an errant throw from third base on the hit. After a groundout to the pitcher, Vin DeRubeis singled home Rauso and went to second on the throw home.

Justin Waldek reached on bunt single up the third base line, putting runners on the corners. Whiteman's suicide squeeze bunt plated DeRubeis.

Norwalk made it 2-1 in the bottom of the third.

Jake Fishman drew a one-out walk and Thomas Benincaso followed with a single through the shortstop hole. Then Ryan Serles singled down the third base line to load the bases for Moe Ortiz, whose sacrifice fly to left drove in Fishman.

Trumbull got that run back in the top of the fourth.

Rauso doubled to left center with one out and Lynch singled him home.

In the fifth, Whiteman walked, stole second and scored on Dustin Sequeira’s bunt single.

Trumbull tacked on three runs in the fifth.

O'Brien singled before being forced out by Rauso. Lynch singled and Rauso scored on Waldek’s single. Lynch and Waldek executed a double steal before Whiteman tripled them home.

Trumbull put the last two runs on the board in the seventh.

Sequeira walked, stole second, went to third on Fasoli’s single and scored on an error. Kris DiCocco plated Fasoli with a sacrifice fly.
