Trumbull Legion ran its record to 17-4 after taking two games from Norwalk, 1-0 and 4-1, at Trumbull High on Tuesday.

With its win last Friday at Norwalk they swept season series.

Mike D’Agostino pitched four shutout innings to get the win in the opener. Justin Waldek tossed the final three. There were only four hits in the game (two per side).

The game’s only run crossed the plate in the fourth inning.

Simon Whiteman leds off with a sharp single and was sacrificed to second by Dustin Sequeira. With Alex Rauso up, Whiteman stole third base and scored when the throw from the catcher went into left field. Rauso singled to right field, but was stranded.

In the nightcap, Waldek, Frank Puglia and Jared Rosen combined on a three hitter.

Chris O'Brien's three-run double was the difference.

With one out in the first, Andrew Lojko reached on bad hop single over shortstop.

He stole second, Matt Fasoli walked and the pair executed a double steal. Kris DiCocco walked to load the bases for O’Brien, who cleared the bases with a double.

Norwalk made it 3-1 in the second on a pair of walks and an error.

Trumbull got the run back in the fourth.

Vin DeRubeis singled to center and with one out Whiteman's bunt single put him at second. Pinch-hitter Tyler Zikias singled past short to bring home the run.

Trumbull now travels to Providence for the Firecracker Tournament. Zone action resumes Tuesday, July 5, at Darien.
