The Christian Heritage School of Trumbull girls soccer team took control in the second half to defeat host Gunnery School, 3-0, on Friday.

CHS goalkeeper Soph Luft had some tremendous saves throughout the game, and her save pushing the ball over the crossbar in the 35th minute on a great shot helped change the momentum of the match.

Tied 0-0 at the half, CHS started to create more chances early in the second half.

Lindsey Augustin broke the deadlock when she took a pass from Ranita Muriel just six minutes in and found the back of the net after she beat two defenders.

Ten minutes later, Muriel took a pass from Augustin and netted the second goal of the game for CHS.

Gunnery applied the pressure trying to get back into the match, but Luft continued her strong play turning away shot after shot.

With 10 minutes to go, Muriel found Augustin for her second goal of the game to give CHS the 3-0 lead.

Luft had 12 saves to record the shutout.

CHS is now 7-1-3 on the season and hosts Hamden Hall on Monday afternoon at Indian Ledge.
