Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment announced today that Webster Bank Arena will host two regular season CIAC high school basketball games on Friday, Jan. 11. Fairfield Prep will face Hamden High School at 7 p.m. St. Joseph of Trumbull will take on Harding High School in Bridgeport at 9 pm. \u201cHigh school sports is thriving at Webster Bank Arena,\u201d said Howard Saffan, president of Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment, which manages Webster Bank Arena. \u201cThese games, the Northeast Christmas Classic basketball tournament and the New Year\u2019s Eve Hockey Faceoff tournament show our commitment.\u201d Fairfield Prep sits atop the SCC league rankings with a 7-0 record. The Jesuits won the Holiday Classic tournament on Friday, Dec. 28, topping Notre Dame of Fairfield 80-64. Center Paschal Chuckwu was tournament MVP. The 7-footer had 20 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks. St. Joseph (6-1) competed in the Northeast Christmas Classic at Webster Bank Arena on Dec. 27-28, defeating LaSalle of Staten Island, N.Y. and Monsignor Farrell of New York City. The Hamden Green Dragons arrive with a 1-4 record. The Harding Presidents are 2-3 and have jumped three spots to 11 in the FCIAC rankings. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and children age 12 and under. Tickets are available at the Webster Bank Arena.
