Watertown claims Helmet with win over Torrington

Sophomore quarterback Brady Gambee led Watertown to a 33-6 rout over Torrington Thursday morning, reclaiming the Helmet Trophy after last year's loss to the Raiders.

Gambee rushed for 78 yards and passed for 187 more, scoring on runs of 15 and six yards plus a 55-yard touchdown pass to Adam Hassinger,

Toby Koval (6-yard run) and Ty Housen (10-yard run) scored the other Watertown touchdowns.

Housin finished with 63 rushing yards for the day.

Torrington sophomore Edwin Rivera had 73 rushing yards for the Raiders, including a 55-yard fourth-quarter touchdown.

Watertown finishes its season 4-6. Torrington ends its season 1-9.
