Trumbull to meet upstart Danbury in girls basketball semis

Trumbull defeated Stamford 55-27 in its FCIAC girls’ basketball quarterfinal game on Saturday.

No. 3 Trumbull (12-2) will host No. 7 Danbury (9-4) in the semifinals on Wednesday at 5.

Danbury upset No. 2 Staples 47-30 in its quarterfinal game.

Cassi Barbato scored 14 points and Emma Gentry had 13 for Trumbull.

Sam Albert scored 10 points to lead No. 6 Stamford (9-5).
