Trumbull softball wins first three games

Lia Goldstein and Julia Telep each drove in three runs for Trumbull in its 8-2 win at Ledyard. Becca Sexton allowed five hits and struck out nine to improve to 3-0. Goldstein hit a home run and Telep a double. Sexton went 3 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs in a 15-4 win over Westhill. She struck out 10. CC Cummings and Lianna Weaver had three hits each. Liv DiCocco had two hits.

St. Joseph girls’ lacrosse

St. Joseph lost 16-4 to Ridgefield. Izzy Casucci had two goals. Maddigan Leifer and Hanna Silamaki one each. Meghan Hoynes had two assists. Emily Robinson made four saves.

Girls’ golf

Trumbull defeated St. Joseph 197-232 at Tashua Knolls. Leading Trumbull were Lindsay Baker 48, Grace Codd 49, Erica Laurentino 53 and Devyn Genet 47. St. Joseph was paced by Jamie Andrade 45, Julia Kaye 58, Marianna Wegiel 60 and Isabel De Aresse Martin 69.
