Trumbull’s Brooke Rubush league shot put champion

The Trumbull girls’ and boys’ indoor track and field teams each placed fifth at the FCIAC Meet. The St. Joseph boys’ team took 11th.

Trumbull’s Brooke Rubush won the shot put with a throw of 30-07 feet. Cheyla Williams from Ridgefield was second at 30-03.

Trumbull’s Kali Holden was runner-up in the 1000-, 1600- and 3200-meter runs. Her times were 3:01.55., 5:13.23 and 11:27.34. Emily Mrakovic from Wilton won the 1000 in 2:59.53, Anna Keeley from Ludlowe the 1600 in 5:04.35 and Keeley the 3200 in 11:08.53.

Trumbull’s Alyssa Andrews placed second in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.8 seconds, behind only Audrey Kpoder of Danbury’s 9.48.

Evan Dodson from Trumbull was runner-up in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.38 seconds. Zachary Carifa from Greenwich won in 8.30.

St. Joseph’s Maxwell Warren ran the 55-meter dash in 6.74 seconds to take third. Kyle Thomas from Danbury had the winning time of 6.66 followed by Warde’s Maximo Rivano in 6.72.

Trumbull’s Mohammed Abunar was third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:30.58. Ben Lorenz of Staples had the winning time of 4:29.26.

St. Joseph’s Roberto DaCosta placed third with a long jump of 19-07 feet.

Elliot Miller placed third with a high jump of 5-10 feet.

Miller, Jack DiGiovanni, Liam O’Keefe and Freud-Williams Maignan finished the 4x200 relay in 1:36.11 to take third.

O’Keefe, Matt Wich, Maignan and Miller were third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:37.87.

Ludlowe won the girls’ title followed by Greenwich and Danbury.

Staples was boys’ champions, Greenwich and Danbury again took the next two spots.
