Trumbull girls basketball tops Fairfield Warde

Emi Roberto returned after missing the opener to lead the Trumbull girls’ basketball team to a 54-32 win over FCIAC rival Fairfield Warde on Thursday.

Roberto and Emma Gentry each scored 17 points, as coach Steve Tobitsch’s Eagles improved to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the FCIAC.

Trumbull made nine 3-pointers. Lauryn Wright (14 points) had four, Gentry three, and Roberto two.

Ryanne Gulbin had 11 points and Allie Ortiz nine for coach Dave Danko’s Warde Mustangs (1-1).
