Devon Watson, Maura Carbone and Lyndsay Guzzetta scored goals when Trumbull defeated Fairfield Warde, 3-0, at McDougall Stadium.

The Eagles dominated the contest offensively, outshooting the Mustangs, 29-2 and holding a 12-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Trumbull took the lead with one minute left in the first quarter when Watson corralled a long rebound and converted from 10 feet. Carbone gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead when she redirected a shot from Megan Smith.

Guzzetta completed the scoring with a nifty goal off a reverse chip to the left of the cage in the third quarter.

Fairfield Warde goalie Katherine Foley was outstanding, making 17 saves. She also stopped a penalty stroke in the second half. Eagles’ goalie Jenny Flynn made one save.

Trumbull (2-1) returns to action on Saturday morning when it hosts FCIAC-rival Westhill at 11 a.m. at McDougall Stadium.
