Trumbull defeats Danbury in FCIAC girls basketball semis

The Trumbull girls’ basketball team is heading back to the FCIAC championship game for the first time since 2018 after a 57-45 home semifinal win over Danbury on Wednesday.

Cassi Barbato scored 18 points and Emi Roberto had 16 as coach Steve Tobitsch’s third-seeded Eagles improved to 13-2.

Tianna Rogers had 15 points for seventh-seeded Danbury (9-5).

Julia Lindwall and Sarah Stolze added seven points apiece for Trumbull.

Barbato and Roberto each made two 3-pointers.
